Diamond D Ranch, located just 25
miles south of downtown Dallas in Red Oak, Texas, officially opened its
pastures to its first Longhorns in November 2005. Since then, we have
worked hard to continually improve our herd and have made much
progress. By being increasingly selective when making additions to the herd, we have been successful in creating an excellent set of Longhorn cattle. While having the option to AI our herd to any number of outstanding bulls, we have found it much easier to employ two outstanding herd sires - Rodeo Max ST and DDR Rio Ranger. Since selling Rodeo Max to Dickinson Cattle Company in Ohio and partnering with MMR Longhorns on DDR Rio Ranger, we are currently looking at our young bull DDR Southern Thunder as a potential herd sire.
Our goal is to breed and sell quality longhorns with productive genetics
and plenty of horn and we hope others have as much fun with them as we
do. We feature some of the best genetics in the breed as well as some
new up and comers. We also are focusing on twisted horn and the
genetics that will ultimately allow this beautiful horn style to remain
in the breed.
