Herd Sires

The bull that is used as your herd sire makes a huge impact on your program.  He accounts for half of the genetics in your entire calf crop.  Make sure that good genetics are playing a role in your herd sire selection.  Both Rodeo Max ST and DDR Rio Ranger have the sought-after characteristics for Longhorns and would make excellent sires for your program.  Semen is available on both bulls.

Steers

All of our bull calves are steered at a young age.  While there is a chance that we are steering a champion bull, the fact of the matter is that only one in 100 bull calves will be rock stars.  These steers will either end up as trophy steers or will go into our meat program.
